After each
presidential election we Americans, as one president prepares to leave office
and another prepares to take office, observe and experience what is called a
“peaceful transition of power.” How blessed we are to have a peaceful transition
of power as citizens of the United States. We who are not only citizens
of the United States but simultaneously citizens of another country, “a better
one – a heavenly one” (Hebrews
11:16) are blessed to bring a powerful transition of peace to people in
times of chaos and crisis.
The
powerful transition of peace is given to those fearing and sensing that the
world, or their world, has gone out of control to when we remind them that God
still reigns, that He is sovereign and that He will indeed work all things for
the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (Romans
8:28)
The
powerful transition of peace is offered through our actions, to those
distraught at how hateful people can be, when we who trust that God is love
seek to love one another. (I
John 4:7-8)
The
powerful transition of peace is received by those who have lost their health,
their hope, their way…or who are just lost, when we remind them that by His
stripes we are all healed and that He knows our pain and holds us close to His heart,
that He has plans for us, that He is the way and that He ever seeks and never
departs. (Isaiah
53:5, Jer.
31:17, John
14:7, John
10)
