Read Romans 7:4-8

Paul lays out the pattern of the Christian life and experience somewhat like those great children’s books in which the last page says the same thing the first page said; and so the story continues again and again.  If you are not familiar with them, my favorite title of such works is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, though If You Give a Moose a Muffin is also a fun story.

Much like my favorite titles, we find the Christian faith, life and experience is one that keeps progressing forward by repeating the same story.

V  Christ gave His Life for You!

V  Your Life now Belongs to God!

V  As one belonging to God, you will do that which is just and right, humble and good.

As one who is still by nature fallen; before long, when exposed to the light of God’s Will and Word (where He informs you of that which is just and right, humble and good) you will be confronted with your guilt, grieved by ungodly desires, and ashamed by actions/words that are contrary to one who belongs to God.  At such a time you will go to the One, who came for you, died for you and was brought back to life for you.  And He who gave His life for you will remind you that you belong to Him.  As one who belongs to Him, you will do that which is just and right, humble and good.  Then…
